Vent..

I admit that I visit a lot of message boards. There was a thread about the Hurricanes and Tropical storms. We were recently pounded by Fay who decided to stick around for a few days and flood the area. I made a comment that it was turn south heading toward Cuba. At the time when it was posted it is too early to determine exactly where the turn will take her. . I got bashed for being glad it is not going to hit here. This people did not have the balls to post their real identity, if you are throw the stone it is better to face it like an adult and not hide behind a Guest Identity. It is now 3 days later and they are still unsure where Hanna is heading. Since Fay hit here I have had to watch co-workers & patients cry over watching the things they worked so hard for be washed away before their eyes. I have listened to them dealing with their insurance, Landlords and FEMA. We have a space shuttle due to head into space soon. If we are hit with another storm it will cost millions to re-arrange the schedule. And the poor families in Barefoot Bay who have parts of their houses ripped off then water invading. Fay hit our coast 4 times in a week and left a lot of water in her path. She is moving toward places that are still recovering from previous storms and where one is headed as we speak. I will tell you I do not want any of the storms to hit the islands off our coast but I will be quite honest I do not think this place could take another storm so soon. I truthfully do not know how the people of those islands can survive with as many storms that have passed over them. The have very little structural damage or life loss. These are the people we need to study. We need to see how and why their homes do so well. When I made the comment about is turning south and way from here I do not wish for it to harm anyone. It is still early and they do not know where she is truly heading. If two storms hit the US coastline on the same week the government would not be able to handle it. And truthfully I just typed exactly what every Floridian is thinking. It will be the same thing that people in the projected path (or cone) of Gustva will be saying when it makes landfall away from them and their house is spared. I just was adult enough to type what everyone was thinking. Every year people who reside in a coastal community says the same prayer June 1st and when they announce something is brewing in the tropics - Please do not let it head toward us. And on November 30th we are partying because another Hurricane season is over and then hope there are no season storms. It is the facts and it is time for others to admit it.

Oh I took this last night.

Yes you read that right. Kids have said that they have a monster in their closet. Well I do. I fot him on film.. Last night Cody could not find a place to settled. First he tried to boot me off my pillows. then he moved the comforter then to my dirty cloths then he wondered into the closet. I think I will keep my little closet monster.

Like adding salt to a cut..

Ok this time last week we were waiting to see what T.S. Fay had up her sleeve. In the following days she moved in and stayed. It is now another week and we are watching another storm develop. With 30 inches in the rain bucket from Monday until Thursday. It is way to much for the ground to handle. To make it worse.. We have still had rain everyday since. Back to our normal afternoon showers. On my way home I saw a storm off the coast and you could see a Rainbow in it. I did not have my camera with me. Yeah I know. I am beating myself up over it. Maybe this friend following Fay will dissolve before it causes any more problems. Fay was a record storm She made landfall 4 times. Yes came ashore 4 times. She almost caused damage in every county - all 67 of them. Now Fay is heading through Alabama and heading to Louisiana. Thank goodness she dumped most of her rain on use vs on them. We can handle it they can not. We have a better drainage then the rest. Now that the state has had so much water we will start having sinkholes opening up. Yikes.... Watch where you step..

Sun in the Sunshine state..

Well maybe not that clear. The sun did make an appearnace today. Not for long but we did see some sun rays and blue skies. Shocking I know. Sunshine in the Sunshine state..

This was just after 630pm tonight. We are dry. The blocked road at the enterance of the subdivison was open this morning. We had to go to work this morning. It was a pretty quiet morning and then seemed to pick up in the afternoon. One of my co-workers had 9 inches in her home. Maybe we will get some sun tomorrow. According the the Weather Channel we got between 15 to 30inches of rain. Palm Shores which is about 5 minutes from the house got almost 21inches (It is where I took some pictures of lightening). Windover Farms just west of me reported over 25 inches by 5pm Wednesday evening. Now that is a lot of water. Enough water that Alligators are swimming through the neighborhood. Some peoples ponds over flowed and Koi were swimming around. Catfish were on the tarmac at one of the airports. One of the news channels said they have chased Fay all over the state. They say they have put over 800 miles on their vehicle and they are not done chasing her.
Blog Challenge:When you do vacation pic. Do you make a different book for each vacation or all in one book?
I rarely get to take a vacation so not usually. I went to England on a Harry Potter tour thru AAA and I have created an album about the film locations we visited. I completed it right before I went back to England and added Scotland to my tour. (HP Fantrips). I am planning on doing an album for that trip too. I have created a coffee table book of some of the trip but would like to have a scrapbook to join the first. I am just looking a matching album and a paper line I like.

Fay Fay Go Away.

We have the tropical storm that WILL NOT LEAVE... Since monday we have had over 25 inches of rain. Tuesday just after I got home at 1pm.
#2 It about 5 pm. #3 Is outside of my bedroom window. #4 is the water creeping up the back porch. It then went back down. #5 About 1pm Water raising fast. #6 This is the way I go to work. The canal overflowed and is heading to the creek the fastest way it knows. Right Across Croton Rd. Looks like I will be going a different route to work tomorrow. #7 is the Canal. You usually can not see the water in it. Sunday There was a guy standing down there and you could not see below his shoulders.

TS Fay

I just wanted to let you guys know I am going to be a little quiet for a few days. Fay is approaching and is blowing pretty hard. We have 40+mph winds with gusts in the upper 50's right now. I am not sure how long we will keep power and how long it will be would be out if we lose it. We have gotten a couple inches of rain and we are in our 4th or 5th tornado watch and now our first watch not far from us now. The area of concern is just over the river from us. It is near the boys I watch's house. So I am off & will let you know when it passes...

I know there is a new die out but will have to post more when Fay moves over. She is throwing quite a nice temper tantrum right now..

Weekend plans..

So mom has decided to give me my belated birthday present that I told her she did not have to do. Tomorrow we are going to Universal Studios and we are going to see Blue Man Group. I have not been to Universial Studios in a long time. This should be fun.. Then we are going to stop at Florida Mall so I can get some more of my facial scrub from the Lush Store. If you have not tried the stuff your need to consider it. Amazing stuff and all natural. It is best to stop there while I am in Orlando since it is $10 shipping to order it on line and Florida mall is not far from Universal.

Now a vent to Universal / Warner Bros... Why are you guys moving the release date of the Harry Potter Movie?????????????? Are you scare of a couple of vampires??? The only cool thing about the release is the new release date is on MY BIRTHDAY. And thee Birthday of Erin who shares the same date. Read about it Here. But an added bonus. As you know I am not only a Harry Potter Fan. I am an Edward fan. If you have not read these book you are missing a pretty good set of books. Why can there not be more Edwards in the world???? Since they have movie the Harry Potter movie to My birthday the film company releasing Twilight will be moving the release of the movie to November 21st to replace the whole make my HBP. Read about it.

A new Knight

This is great.. The Edinburgh zoo today presented Knighthood to one of their prized Penguins. He is too cute. The Edinburgh Zoo is one of the places I whiched I had visited while I was visiting. Man I can not believe that is has been over a year since I was in Scotland. Why is time flying. I am ready to pick up and move of to either England or Scotland. If you know the real me you know I have to take medication daily for a condition called Uticaria (a.k.a. Rash of unknown origin). The two weeks I spent in England and Scotland was truly a heaven sent. They don't use as many perservatives in their food as we do. I usually break out from wheat products. Not there. I was all may medication a few days after landing in this beautiful country. I would love to move across the pond but have not figured out how I could afford to. Plus I do not want to leave my mother. I am all she has. Maybe one day the time will be right and I can relocate for my health. Don't get me wrong I love living in Florida and close to the Mouse House. To be itchy or not be itchy.. that is the question..

Family update..

I spoke with my dad. He says Uncle Bobby is doing well. He is not feeling very good right this moment. They have been doing blood test and they currently show that there is no cancer in his blood. They are going to take a bone marrow test to see if it is in his Marrow. If it is not then they are doing to search the Bone Marrow Registry for a match and proceed with the transplant. The physician says everything is going well. I am very glad to hear all this.

Also I am in Chapter 10 of Breaking Dawn.. Man work is really getting in the way of my reading... Humm.. I have some sick days available.... might have to use some...

Blog Challenge

When you go on vacation and take lots of pics... Do you try to scrap them all or just some?

I just scrap some of them. I have a habit of taking WAY to many photos. On my last trip I went to England & Scotland for 12 days. I took over 1800 and multiple Videos. Yeah ouch.. Thank goodness I took my computer with me to unload my camera frequently. I did make an 52 page 5x7 coffee table book of pictures from the trip. I have not started to scrap this trip yet.

Tired of the same thing over and over again..

First off.... I am in Chapter 4 of Breaking Dawn. I only started it about 9pm last night. I am moving along pretty quickly. So far it is pretty good....

Okay back to the title subject. There are two things that are constantly on the TV. 1.) The Digital switch off due in Febuary 2009. We get it.. If you are on an aentenna after that date you will not be able to watch TV. Get the stupid box so they can stop these commercials. The thing that sucks that when a hurricane hits an area we can not pick up TV stations with our battery operated TV. Real smart... 2.)The whole Caylee Anthony situation. The mother Casey has done something with that little angel. And Cindy (Casey's Mother) knows more then she puts on. Casey is not acting right. She has only showed emotions when she was being sentenced. She was more worried about her boyfriend's cell number. Why does an unemployeed mother need a babysitter. There is truly something wrong with this whole deal. The only people I feel bad for is Caylee and her grandfather. They are the true victums. Casey needs to come off the planet named Denial and confess as to what she has done with Caylee.

Not Yet...

I know I am far behind in starting Breaking dawn. I think I am going to go ahead and stop the book I am reading and start Breaking Dawn. You know when you read a series and just read them back to back and the book gets a little stale. That is where I am. I am going to finish the chapter and start the other. I must say I am beginning to enjoy AudioBooks from Audible.com. The local radio shows are getting annoying. The DJ's voices are like nails on a chalk board. The radio stations are playing the same songs over and over again. Thank God for MP3 players and AudioBooks. I have started listening to the Bloodties Series from Jennifer Armentrout. So off to read again

This is what I have been working on

These are the projects I have been working on all weekend. The Monogram card was quick and easy. The recipe card is another thing. I of course decided to use too many dies which I am now slowly assembling. These are for the Klub QK meeting next monday the 11th. We usually have 1 month before but with the summer they shifted them to the 3rd Monday. Now we are back to the 2nd Monday. I have 5 down and I have 9 more to make then stickle them. So let me know what you think.

I check my mail yesterday and I receieved this great message from Emily. She has nominated for a blog award. I drop by Emily's blog quite often. She has some beautiful photos and has tackled putting contacts in.

The rules for this award are:

*The winner can put the log on his/her blog.
*Link to the person you received your award from.
*Nominate at least 7 other blogs.
*Put links to those blogs on yours.
*Leave a message on the blogs of the people you nominated.
So...passing on the love...I nominate (in no particular order):

Cult classic..

Many years ago I use to watch Mystery Science theater 3000. You know -It is about a man is trapped in space with two robots. They play a classic Sci-fi B-movies and make comments though out the movie. Well what brings this up is I was flipping through the channels and the movie was playing on HBO. I miss shows like this. It is also neat to see how far we have come in the film industry. Even the costumes have truly advanced. I had totally forgot about this show. So goofy.

Tonight I have been working on my Klub QK Recipe pages for the meeting on the 11th. I have one page complete. Only 13 more to go. I have all the die cuts cut. Now I just have to assemble them. I am pretty happy with them. I will post a picture probably tomorrow. Have a good night..

Good News, New home party & a Good Book.

Good News.. My cholesterol is down. My total cholesterol went from 233 to 169 in 6 weeks. And no it was NOT the cheerios (I did that and my cholesterol did not budge). My ratio when from5.5 to 3.3. So the Crestor is working. I have not changed my diet anymore. So I guess this means I am stuck on it for a while. Which reminds me I need to request a refill from target.

Tonight I went to my friend Shannon's house for a home party. It was for a company called Uppercase Living. It is a company that pretty much does vinyl wall art. Very cool product. A lot of great fonts and sayings. They have a lot of pre-made sayings. And you can also create your own. Yeah I know what you are thinking. I can do this on my Cricut, silhouette or wishblade machine. Yes you can but they do not have the color vinyl selection like they do. I purchased a beautiful Create sign that I am going to put either in my bedroom or in the craft room. I was considering the "All you need is a faith, trust and little fairy dust" wall art but thought someone would think I was in sane. They have it embellished with gems. Maybe if I have a book party and then get it. I brought home a catalog to take to work to see if I could spark enough interest to do one.

Then I headed over to Books a Million so I could pick up my copy of Breaking Dawn by Stephanie Meyers. The store was having a midnight release party. It was pretty interesting. Lots of people dressed up. They had give-a-ways. Remember my vent about this store.. Well they were sold out before it was every released. They only had enough to cover the Pre-orders. Hello.. Don't you think other people are going to want to read this book. Maybe they did not want to pre-order it. Well this store is sold out. They have to lose a lot of business because they do not have the latest releases. It is just stupid. And now that I pull the Books-a-million site up, how can they already have 8 used books for sale when it was only released 1 hour ago???? I can not start it yet because I am still trying to finish The Fiery Cross. I need to get my butt in gear. I did get one chapter read while waiting for the release. There are 111 chapters in the book and I am only on Chapter 35. Oh man.. Maybe I will stop this one for a few to get this one down then maybe I can get into Fiery Cross. I think I read to many of the same series back to back.

I must run. It is 2am and I need some sleep. Night or Good Saturday Morning because that is what time it will be when you read this. Have a safe & fun weekend.
