A day in history..

If you do not know what is happening today then you must be living in a box. Today George W. Bush steps down from a roller coaster of events in his 8 years as a president to turn over the leadership to Barack H. Obama. Thank You George W. Bush for your leadership through the last 8 years. You have showed us strength when we were attacked by some irrational individuals. You showed support when our loved ones went to war to help people who is in need of help to create a better government. You cared when Mother Nature decided to throw a temper tantrum and cause destruction around the world. You term has been a rough one and you have worked your hardest to do your best but fortune was not always on your side. You have done an amazing job. Thank you. Today we welcome a new leader who will do the same. He will do his best to lead our country in a better direction. No one know what hurdles he will have to overcome in the next 4 years. The world is forever changing and you have a great weight on your shoulders. God bless you and your family as you create a home in the White House. May your road not be as rough ask it has in the recent past. Good Luck Mr. Barack H. Obama our 44th President of these United States of America.

The History Channel gets interesting...

Okay what person really likes to watch the History Channel. I must admit that I do watch it at Halloween time because that is when all the Haunted History and Ghost shows come on. Well at least not on a Friday Night. Until now.. I was channel surfing and are flipping through the channels and something catches my eyes - Sex and the Civil War. I have never laughed so hard at something on the History Channel. I highly Recommend it. Did you know that at one time 40% of the army had venereal disease. It is amazing to see what when on during the war. In Nashville, they legalized prostitution and created a women's hospital that treated the women with venereal disease. There was also a Menes hospital also. There was a woman named Anna Jones who preferred generals and had quite a list of generals in her little black book. Some names on her list were Kilpatrick & Custer. Did you know in the civil war time whore houses once occupied the property that now houses the IRS. So no matter what has been built on that piece of property someone has and will always get screwed. It is now on to volume two - More Sex and the Civil War. See history can be interesting. Thing that make you go hummmm....

US Airways...

I must say Way to go to the Pilots and crew of the flight that took a dip in the Hutson river. You are the new heros of the day. Way to go. If I my ever be in an emergency I hope my crew is as talented as you. God Bless you.

Heck it took me long enough.

So here is the whole run down.
December 24th - We worked until 3pm. Yep you read that right - 3pm. I came home took a short nap. It was a busy day. We collected money and food for one of our previous OB patients who has hit an extremely hard patch. Her husband lost his job, they lost their house, they are living in a travel trailer and she lost her mother recently. The in-laws took them to dinner. She went outside to nurse the baby and someone stole her purse with their money, food stamps and her mother's jewelry in it. They had nothing. So we collected enough stuff to help them get through this troubled time that was suppose to be the happiest time of the year. Mom & I opened presents that evening. I got an Amazon Kindle. Yeah. This thing is the greatest.
December 26th - I boarded a plane in Orlando to Greensboro with a layover in Atlanta. Well of course we made great time until we hit Atlanta. The fog moved in. I truly do not think it ever moved out. It was incredible and scary to see. The planes were taking off and disappearing before the tail was off the ground. I went and got a snack and some reading at Chili's. We were told to go to gate D31. Well at the time we were suppose to take off it was pushed to 3pm. Then we moved to D27. Then it was pushed to 315pm. then 330pm and back to D31. Then it was announced that our plane was here and we would be boarding at 4pm from D27. We boarded and the pilot says the fog is moving in and they needed to take a different route so they needed more fuel. so 45 minutes sitting in the little plane on the tarmac we finally take off 2 hours late. I finally land in Greensboro. My dad meet me at the airport. My stepmother is at home because she is not feeling well. Which I do not mind. I don't get to spend too much time with my dad. We go home and have some left overs. It was great.
otherwise the trip goes as usual. My stepmother is constantly in shopping mode. She did have a down time on Sunday and Monday. She came down with a kidney infection and ended up at urgent care and they gave her drugs and she slept most of those 2 days. They did allow me to cook - So I made Chicken and Rice Casserole. They liked it. My aunt & uncle came over on his way home from Baptist Hospital. He was diagnosed the day before that he has a blood clot at his pic line. They gave him some medication that for 10days it is $1445.00. Of course insurance does not want to pay for it. My stepmother is having a fit about the cost. I explained to my stepmother that it is the medicine that I will have to inject myself with when I get pregnant. Boy did I surprise her. I explained that is why I am hoping for twins to get it over once. On New Years Eve it is time to head home. I have never thought I was going to crash until my way home. The plane took some scary turns and drops. Of course we were 20mins late takng off. When we landed in Atlanta the pilot let those with short connections get off first. That was lucky. So it is 110pm and my plane to Orlando leaves at 150pm. I am, you guessed it D31 and have to A2. So I walk to distance to the A terminal and as I am walking up they are boarding the plane. So much for stopping to get something to nibble on. So I get to my seat. I am lucky that they have have not put anyone next to me. Then just at the last minute they put someone there. This veteran that of course had to make comments about how it is amazing that this tiny wings can carry such a big plane. Oh good heaven, just what you want to hear after the first leg of the trip. So I make back to the main terminal of the airport. Mom tells me that Uncle Bobby had to go back to the hospital because he had an episode. Well his sugar was in the 300's when I was there and that is what I figuired it was. It ended up to be one of his meds giving him a fit. Otherwise things are back to it's normal crazyness. Now you are up to spead. Oh I did make some money babysitting twice so far. Happy new year.

Just a thought

Okay is it 4am. I am wide awake.. Okay.. What is the deal with the amish making electronic heater/fireplaces???

Why do they sell Rosetta stone language CD's in the airport??? If you were traveling someplace where they did not speak english. I don't think the 12 hour flight is going to help you find yourself around.

Okay I think I will try and get some sleep. If not I will be back...I will update you later today about the family dramas.. That has not happend in a few weeks..
